That's sad news. I worked for Herb as his chief clerk for several years. He was
an extremely dynamic gentleman. A persuasive force for the Burlington. I
learned many lessons from him. I haven't seen him in more than 37 years. I wish
I could have visited with him at least one more time before he left us.

The North Texas Chapter NRHS was fortunate enough to have Herb as a speaker
at our annual Christmas dinner a few years ago. The man was passionate
about the CB&Q to be sure. He wasn't afraid to share his opinion on a few
things either!

Sorry to hear of his passing. He was supposed to be the keynote speaker at
the BRHS Convention in Ft Worth, but health problems prevented his
appearance. It was a great disappointment.
