To members of the list;
I recall during flooding detours in the early seventies, of the Amtrak "San
Francisco Zephyr" operating via West Quincy and St. Joe, MO on it's
transcontinetal journey. This mirrored a practice of the Burlington Route
detouring the
California Zephyr via Cameron Jct. and St. Joseph, MO. Including at least
one occasion, I understand, of the California Zephyr (or Zephyr's) detouring as
far south as Murray Yard in North Kansas City and on to Omaha or Chicago.
Are there photos of these rare CB&Q events, or stories from fans or
employees?
It would be great to hear details!
