List,
Saw the ad for the Railway Classics waycars in the latest MR (and now
on the web site) and this brought up a question of usage on the NE-10s.
In 1945 a number of the NE-10s were modified to include a train radio,
axle generator, battery box, etc - according to Railway Classics site.
About half of the cars were not modified however. I would have to
assume during my modeling time frame (1954 - just before the NE-12s)
that the NE-10 waycars were the primary main line cars since they were
the newest on the system. Why then were only some of them modifed and
updated? And on a related topic for someone like myself building a
branch line, which one would be more appropriate for this type of
service? Thanks.

                        Eric Mumper
