Gentlemen,
I am working on an article for the Erie Lackawanna Historical Society.
The topic of the article is Run Through Power, both Foreign Road units
roaming on the Erie Lackawanna, and EL units roaming on foreign roads.
There are a few photos already published either in books or online of
CB&Q power running on EL lines as run through, so evidence of this
already exhists and is what sparked this idea.
This is where I need your help. The article will be for our future
society website, which should be officially lauched later in the year.
What I am looking for are photos, or other documentation (dispatcher
sheets, pit records, service records, etc.) detailing EL power on
Burlington Route lines.
Please, take some time to dig through your photo collections and other
media. As a ELHS member, and part of the society's Web Development Team,
you have my word that:
1.) All copywrites will be protected
2.) All sources will be mentioned
Photos do not need to be "Top Quality".. We are not interested in who
can shoot the best picture, we are interested in the content of the
picture (in this case, EL power on CB&Q rails, or CB&Q power on EL
rails) Computer imaging can clean up a photo if need be.
Also, keep in mind that EL became part of Conrail officially on April
1st, 1976, so photos and records on that date, or after are out of the
scope of what we are looking for.
