Hello Everyone,

Please forgive the cross post. Officers and members of the Cedar Rapids
(Iowa) Area Railfan Association along with the Ushers Ferry Historical Village
will be hosting their 16th Annual "Ushers Ferry Trains Day" this Sunday June 1,
2003 from 11am-5:pm. This year the theme is Milwaukee Road Memories.
Throughout the day there will be a small outdoor swap meet, the Cedar Rapids
Garden
Railway Society "G" scale club display, switching layout demonstration,
airbrush clinics, and the "Train Doctor" will be on hand to assist with broken
model
trains.

Of particular interest to the Milwaukee Road fan will be a series of slide
presentations on the Milwaukee Road.
William S. (Bill) Kuba of Cedar Rapids is a local railroad historian who has
a number of photo credits in many publications. Bill is especially known for
his collection of 2-1/4" square format color transparencies from the 1950's
and 1960's. Manchester, Iowa natives Paul and Kurt Michelson will share some of
their collection of the Milwaukee on slides. Bruce Williams of Cedar Rapids
will share his Milwaukee Road Memories. Bruce is a big passenger train fan.

If you have Milwaukee Road items you wish to display or swap, bring them
along. Tables are available for the swap meet. See contact information below.

For the non-railroader in the family, Ushers Ferry is located in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa. It is a historical village that consists of a number of old
buildings
assembled into a replica town of the 1800's. All of the buildings will be
open for self guided tours. Concessions will be available on the grounds.
Families of all ages are welcome.

Ushers Ferry is accessible from Interstate 380 by exiting off at 42nd street.
Turn west to Seminole Valley Road and follow the signs. Admission is $4.00
for adults. Children 5-14 $2.00. Under free. For information contact Darren
Ferreter, President Cedar Rapids Area Railfan Association.
