Terry,
I have an R-1 I bought when they came out. They seemed to sneak in as
there wasn't much hoopla about them. Mine sat in a box for a long time
before I painted it and even yet I have not run it too much as it
doesn't fit my time period so I have to make up a museum train.
Question
1. It is accurate for the Q's R-1.
2. It does run well. Nice and smooth. I have pulled six cars and waycar
up a curved grade on local club.
If it fits your operations it is a good engine to have.
