According to my notes, #344 was built in 1937 as Silver Spur, a 52 seat
chair car for the C & S Denver-Dallas service. It was converted to a
dinette for the Texas Zephyr in 1940, and later converted to a snack
bar/chair car in 1969 about the time when it was transferred to the Q.
I'm sure someone else on the list will have more information for you.
