I don't know about Serena IL. James Butler Hickok, aka "Wild Bill"
Hickok was born in Troy Grove IL on 27 May 1837 and lived on the family farm
near there until 1855 when he moved to Nebraska. Serena is about 20 miles
east of Troy Grove, so there may be a connection.
