When the Aeolus came out of the West Burlington shop after the
dedication on April 11. 1937 it saw several years of
service on the entire Q system as well as its twin #4001.
Later the stainless steel shrouds were removed and they went
back to plain black hudsons.
The #14 Burlington Bulletin dated August of 1985 contains over
30 pages of fine photos of both engines in service over the
entire system. My question is, Are there any films of
8mm or 16mm taken back in the late 1930s that show the Aeolus
in action actually moving with a train.
