The T P & W had a derailment in Crescent City, IL some years ago, in the 1970s I think. It involved several cars of LPG. Most of the "downtown" area was wiped out by the fires and explosions. One of the tankers exploded and landed several blocks away. Someone in the town published a book about the disaster. I have seen it but do not own a copy. Ray C. |
