FYI. This is an FYI message from an "individual BRHS member". I am
not a dealer, vendor, manufacturer or in any way part of
a "commercial enterprise" for the sale of railfan or RR model
merchandise.
Earlier this week Lionel issued their 2003/V1 catalog and has offered
the following:
CB&Q ACF Covered Hopper in 3-rail O-gauge. light gray w/red
lettering. MSRP=$45.
BREX Steel-Side Reefer in 3-rail O-gauge. Yellow. MSRP = $55.
CB&Q California Zephyr 4-pack in 3-rail O-gauge. MSRP = $480. 15"
(60' scale) aluminum cars with undercarriage detail and enhanced add
on detail. Set includes baggage (Silver Bear), 2 dome coaches (Silver
Ranch and Silver Rifle), and a dome observation car (Silver
Horizon). All of these car names have been previously used in O-
gauge by MTH and K-Line. The OGR Forum has a thread on this and
members encouraging Lionel to switch to "fresh to O-gauge"
prototypical names Silver Coyote, Silver Bridle, Silver Stirrup, and
Silver Lookout. Lionel has offered these to compliment its E5/E6 AA
model from last year. Lionel's past DRGW and WP CZ sets were very
nice looking, with the enhancements these may be even better. on,
the other hand, my own roster is getting a little to full to have
duplicare names. FYI, decide for your self.
