We had the same kind of situation on the RI with Perishable Trains for the
IHB.
These trains would arrive at 139th St. where the interchange was made to the
IHB..The switch crew would shove down to the stop board to make the delivery
and then set the w/c over..Normally the head end of the train would come on
into the yard and the head end would tie up...Sometimes the BI Yardmaster
would forget, or, since the afternoon move took place about shift change time
for the YM and switch crews the new YM would forget or not have an engine
available..The RE crews would sit "out on the hill" for several hours on
final terminal...they loved it.
