A large WWII POW camp was located at Algona, Ia just south of the Minn border. The German prisoners, worked on area farms, some stayed and settled after the war. Others were just back for a tour this past month. The camp was most well known for a large Nativity Scene carved out of wood by the POW's and still on display in Algona.
