I have followed Hwy 34 through McCook a lot of times and it is nice
secenery. 

The only book I know that covers it is "The High Plains Route" A history
of the McCook Division. Richard Kistler 1986 South Plate Press (Out of
Print). May some day Mike will get out of the Mississippi valley and
get farther west.
