Greetings BRHSlisters:
In Zephyr 45, somehow (I strongly suspect the Editor was
wishing for an earlier release) the release date of the CUS book
was moved forward to mid-summer. Oh, how I wish that was
true!
Late summer was the targeted date and it has slipped a bit. The
proofing is taking longer than expected and I recently interviewed
some newly introduced, to me, people. It was one of those
difficult choices one makes. Do I interview the woman who rose
to become the Manager of the Information Bureau (those were
the people that staffed the info desk and answered the
telephones), or not? The second person that most recently came
to my attention was hired by the PRR in 1935 and became the
Trainmaster at the 12th Street Coach Yard. His step change in
technology came when batteries replaced kerosene lanterns
and power hand brakes replaced the brake club.
At this point, I belive the book will be perhaps 60 days late, well
before Christmas. I apologize for the delay, but believe it was
worth adding some good stuff.
Please to not post your comments to the list, but to me.
