I was just in San Antonio July 14 and went by Trans Texas Rail
(RailAmerica). I saw the FEC E-unit (E8 or E9), but it was
unlettered, so I couldn't tell what RR it was being painted into
(also was very obscured, so hard to see). I also saw the
purple/silver geep - again, unlettered, so I couldn't tell what was
going on with it. It was over at the diesel emissions testing area in
plain view. On my way to the airport on July 16 I got a different
view of the facility and saw the second E-unit (also an E8 or E9),
which was coupled to the FEC E-unit. Bottom line is that it was not
in Q colors yet - looked to me like it was still in an NJ-DOT grey
scheme, although I could only really see the nose. Maybe it has been
repainted in the last few weeks, but I would have immediately
recognized (and probably freaked out) if I had seen a Q E-unit
sitting there!! (Last one I saw, interestingly, was back in the mid-
70's off the Jacksonville turntable on the SCL. Maybe that has
something to do with the Florida museum's interest.)
