G scale decals are very few and far between. I did find a set for a Q boxcar
in a Walthers catalog. I bought a diffusion printer so I could make my own
decals, but there is a problem with decals. The sun bleaches the red in the
Burlington Route herald very quickly and the black a little more slowly. The
manufacturers of G scale equipment (primarily USA Trains for CB&Q
equipment), use a stamp process with an ink that is very much like paint.
This process holds up quite well in the outdoors.
If anyone has a suggestion for a better process than decals that is doable
in a less than large production process, I sure would like to know about it.
I have about a dozen diesels that I have to replace the decals annually.
Regards, Allan
