The project at Orchard Road in Aurora is to eliminate the highway
crossing with an underpass. There is an electrically-locked hand-
throw switch in place at the east end of the shoofly track and the
present main track will be swung over to connect to the west end of
the shoofly. We will be cutting over coded track circuits between
Sugar Grove and the west siding switch at Aurora along with a
doubleheaded intermediate block signal at M.P. 41.7 on 3/8. The
shoofly will be placed in service on 3/10. When the project is
finished there will be two bridges side by side on a 25 foot spacing
over Orchard Road.
