Do we have any locomotive bell experts on the list? If so, please remember
to include Don's email address in your replies, or contact him directly.

Subject: Steam Locomotive Bell

Hello:

I am looking for information as to where a steam engine bell that I own
came from. The bell is numbered 523 and came out of Alliance, Nebraska.
So it is assumed it is related to C B & Q or BN. It is appears to be old and
is made of brass with heavy iron yoke. The clapper is a swing style made of
iron and large.
The bell appears to never have been converted to steam piston operation.
Can anyone help with the roster number, engine style, operational period and
line usage or anyother info ? Thanks: Don Heimmer, Denver, Colorado
