According to Spoor's Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment, when the AAR implemented the requirement that roofwalks be removed from freight cars in 1966 the Burlington began removing them from cars when they were routinely shopped. The ladders on the "A" end (which used to reach the roof) were also cut down to four rungs.

According to the people at Walthers, the built date of the new Hubbinger insulated boxcar is 5-62.
Looks like I'll have to buy one.
Can anyone tell me when roofwalks started to be removed and ladders shortened?
Thanks!
Duncan
