K-Line Electric Trains (www.k-linetrains.com) has announced in their
2002 Volume 1 catalog a 3-rail O-gauge Burlington Route Gold
boxcar. From the web picture, the road number appears to be possible
91417. The catalog copy states that the prototype 8 gold boxcars
were in honor of the CB&Q receiving the Railway Progress Institute's
Golden Freight Car award in 1966 for freight traffic promotion. MSRP
= $45.
K-Line has also offered a WP F3 ABA set. The 5 15" (60' scale)
California Zephyr cars that were offered previously with the CB&Q E8
AA set at K-Line SuperStores are now also offered in the 2002 Vol. 1
catalog to accompany the WP F3s. The cars are extruded aluminum and
are named Silver Bear, Silver Mustang, Silver Roundup, Silver Dollar,
and Silver Horizon.
