I don't remember, but according to my time book we were ordered for 7:00PM
Friday, March 2, 1979, at Clyde with three switch engines for Eola - 558 (ex
Q 9406A), 525 (ex Q 9228) and 536 (ex Q 9239). The TR-2 was MUable but the
two NW-2's were not. Left Clyde at 8:40PM (25mins ITD on a lite engine!)
were "runaround" by the crew on 2/85 (ord 7:15PM dep 8:27PM) stalled just
west of Prospect Ave. in Clarendon Hills. Had you go back to the 525 so we
could "doublehead" over Westmont. I think you stayed on the 525 until we
arrived at Eola at 9:58PM; tied-up at 10:40PM (42mins FTD). It was your 9th
student engineer trip with me. It appears that it took me nine trips to
learn how to spell your last name correctly; back then I think we were using
Landorf's "moniker" for you anyway. Nine years (to the day!) of BN's "Tender
Loving Care" sure took its toll on all "Q" power; thank you, Louis W. Menk,
"the Fink".
R"J"
PS - 9hrs 50mins later, we were relieving #364 at Sugar Grove. Still trying
to find the trip with the "fusee" incident for later posting to the "List".
