I am unable to locate any photos of the bilevel cars in any of my various
CB&Q books. Anyone know of any contained in any publications or in the
archives of this list? There are photos of trilevel cars on page 93 of Mike
Spoor's CB&Q Color Guide to freight and Passenger Equipment.
I have several questions regarding the Accurail bilevel autorack kits:
Are the X-bracing and placards located on the CB&Q cars per the kit
instructions?
Did the CB&Q cars have the hinged bridge plates (or keep them, if they had
them initially)?
For those who have these kits, in my kit, the bridge plate bracket support
(on the posts marked L) for the upper deck locates the bracket just above
the deck, rather than at a proper elevation about 3 scale feet above the
deck, as with the bridge plate bracket support for the lower deck. Did you
run into this same problem, and if so, how did you correct it?
Finally, I have two identical unidentified pieces that aren't shown in the
instructions. These look somewhat like larger (slightly longer and wider)
bridgeplates. Does anyone know what these are?
Hope these questions are clear, and those who have assembled the kits can
understand what pieces I am referring to. Thanks in advance for any
assistance.
