List, Found this today in the micro-film machine, an article dated August 1, 1916: "CB&Q Putting Soda Fountains in for Relief of Passengers." The Q was equiping its new lounging cars for the Chicago-Denver, Chicago-Omaha, and Chicago-St. Paul trains with soda fountains similar to those used in drug stores from which passengers may be served any time of the day or night. The article goes on to say that is planned to install fountains on the older cars............maybe Amtrak is missing the boat? Bill [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
