SD9s

I have a question on the SD9 units, Little later then the Burlington I guess,
I am looking at the Photos in the Burlington Northern Railroad Photo Archive 
web site looking at the hand rail and details of the units I have to be painted 
and such,
When did the SD9s start having the Low Hoods and Standard cabs,
The athearn Model RD# 6147 is a low noise unit, or was it rebuilt with a low 
noise added.
