Quiet trains

As many of you know trains can often be as quiet as the proverbial mouse. 
Snow,rain,fog,heavy humidity,etc can all hide the noise of a train in 
movement.Night darkness only compounds the silence.There is nothing quieter 
than a car rolling along in the yard after beeing "kicked". Many a railroader 
has been injured because he didn't hear it coming.
