Trains going to West Chicago were cleared as going West. In the
mid sixties this was the C&I Dispatcher's territory.

Subject: [BRHSlist] Timetable direction
I checked the the employee timecards from 1959,1958 ,1948 and 1946. I don't
have any of my old archived train orders handy. What was the timecard
direction of trains moving from Eola to West Chicago and West Batavia?
Remember you end up east of Eola when you arrive at West Chicago and your
obviously North of everywhere at West Batavia. Note that the Rockford branch
was carded at North and South and yet Sterling/Rockfalls and Denrock were
East/West.
Also was I the only who had to stop almost constantly when told to go to the
North or South side when running on the C&I (one of the most North/South
lines there is)? I used the curve at Steward as my guide.
