A little known fact in the AAR agreements is that the "guest" railroad on any
detours,or operating agreements where a "foreign" road is operating on other
than "home" rails is that the "guest" road assumes all responsibility and
liability for any contingencies that arise(derailments,etc). This is the
current status and I guess its been that way forever.
Does this mean that the Rock Island paid for all the damages and ensuing
claims from the 1964 wreck at Montgomery?
