CZ service employees

Hi Gang,

Having ridden the CB&Q-D&RGW-WP California Zephyr in the late 50's, I have 
always wondered who employed the non operating service employees such as 
Zephyrette hostesses, waiters, dining car stewards, porters, etc. Since they 
seemed to cross railroad borders, one would think that they were employed by 
a subsidiary of the three roads. Or were they employed by the individual 
railroads and pooled?
