The following are some recent CB&Q product announcements from various
3-rail O-gauge manufacturers for release later in the year. I am not
a dealer, vendor, employee, or stockholder of any of these customers.
O-gauge firsts (to my knowledge) are marked with an *.

Lionel's 2001 vol.1 catalog (www.lionel.com) announced a redbird U30C
* with RailSounds (MSRP = $400) and a Chinese red hi cube boxcar (MSRP
$50)available later this year. The CB&Q black tank cars * announced
in the 2000/V2 catalog are now available at dealers.

Mike's Train House's (MTH Electric Trains, www.mth-railking.com) 2001
vol. 2 catalog has announced a grayback * F3 ABA set with ProtoSounds
2.0 (MSRP $650), a plain silver extended vision caboose * (sorry, er,
waycar, MSRP $54), Chinese red coil car * (MSRP $45), and a Chinese
red rapid discharge hopper * (MSRP $45) in their Premier line. The
red-striped silver EV waycar * currently at dealers is also listed.
The MTH RailKing offerings include reefers (MSRP $30)in Parrot
Potatoes and Berghoff Beer and a CB&Q diecast Chinese red gondola
(MSRP $50). The MTH Premier 70' ABS CZ cars announced in the 2000
catalogs are now at dealers (3 domes, 1 full dome, 1 baggage, 1 diner,
1 sleeper, and 1 flat observation) and look great.

K-Line Electric Trains' (www.k-line.com) 2001 vol 1 catalog announced
an offset cupola steel caboose (er, waycar) in plain silver with
working smoke jack (MSRP $50). K-Line's CZ with E8 AA (black
stripes) and 15" or 21" aluminum cars (1 baggage, 4 domes, & 1 diner)
are now out at dealers and it is a fantastic set.

Williams Electric Trains' (www.williamstrains.com) E7 AA set (MSRP
~$300, no sound) is out in silver with red window stripes and black
grill stripes, as shown in a pix in Ed Fulcomer's "Colorado & Southern
- Southern Division" (Four Ways West) and as discussed in the BRHS BB
on E units. William's F7 ABA set (MSRP ~350, no sound) is also now
available in Zephyr silver with red nose striping with ficticous road
numbers #9661 ABC. Williams' 72' plastic Zephyr 4 car set is out in
silver with black ribbon font BURLINGTON above the windows and black
ribbon font BLACKHAWK below the window.

O-gauge is cruising "Everywhere West" at full throttle. Prepare your
wallet for sacrifice at the altar of Zephyrus.

Enjoy!
