I have 13 photos of UTLX cars and 7 of them have white stenciling.
Most of the car bodies are black, but two of them are sort of an oxide
color. Only one cars appears to have had the reporting marks repainted at
a different time from when the car was painted, suggesting the white stenciling
on the others was the "original" color.

Subject: [BRHSlist] UTLX tank cars
Here's one for Leo, or any other knowledgeable person.
I usually associate UTLX tank cars with gold or yellow reporting marks.
Please tell me more about them.
Have they always been that color? Do some of the cars have white reporting
marks today? Were they ever white? If so, when did they change over?
The standard-size tank car from the 1950s -- 1960s appears somewhat shorter
than the standard 40? box car of that day. Are they? If so, what was the usual
length of the standard-size tank car then?
