A bit off topic but with the talk of lease units and syuch... KCS has a run
through agreement with UP into Omaha (terminates North Platte I think).
Tonight I saw a grain train heading northbound on old MP trackage with UP
lead unit and what appeared to be two trailing KCS units. Both painted in
KCS colors but the second unit was lettered N.A.F.T.A. Railway (North
American Free Trade Agreement?). How much money did they bilk out of Uncle
Sam by using that name?!? Just thought it was interesting.
