Subject: Railroad track width
Attn: David Lotz & Suzanne Burris
On November 13, the abandoned Northern Pacific Railroad spur between
Country Club Avenue and Kessler Rd off Hiway 12 West was one of four
Projects
selected for Landscape Design by D.. Pohl, Dept of Landscape Architecture,
at
MSU in Bozeman, Mt. Four senior students have been assigned to this
Project.
Our surveyor, Chris Reis is on vacation this week and time is very short for
these students because their presentation is scheduled for middle December.
Their question is: What is the width of the railroad tracks? I am assuming
this
is from the edge of the ties, including the railroad tracks, but I do not
know?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
I will be mailing an aerial map of this property to the students today, but
I
don't know if this will be adequate. The students are trying to locate the
actual building (remains of the rock crushing building owned by Helena
Sand & Gravel) adjacent to the railroad tracks and the tracks on the site.
We are still working on the cabooses. You were of great help in that area.
Thanks again
