FYI: The K-Line Electric Trains 2000 / Part 2 catalog has 2 3-rail
O-gauge Burlington Route offerings. The first is a die cast 4-bay
hopper in tuscan with the scripted "Everywhere West" on the sides
with a coal load. MSRP = $49.95.The second is a die cast gondola in
Chinese red with covers. MSRP = $44.95. K-Line may have info on
their website www.k-linetrains.com.

FYI only; I am not a dealer, vendor, or stockholder of K-Line.

I have a question regarding Life-Like's GP 30. Does the fireman's-side
window towards the long end have a window wiper?

The reason I ask is that I have just had my model of that locomotive
modified by a professional modeler. As is usually the case when you get
something back from someone who has worked on your model, you find that the
work was done and you also find that you now have some missing screws and
broken pieces. Anyway, that window wiper is not there and I would like to
know if it is there on the model as produced by Life-Like. I can't remember.
I do know that the now-missing bell was there when I gave the locomotive to
him and that several screws on the bottom were not replaced when the model
was reassembled.

Kind regards, John

John,
I just looked at mine ( never out of the box until today ), And it does
not have a wiper on the long hood end of the fireman's side.

Leo,

They installed one of the new xovers they built today at Eola. I'm
working
suburbans again, and we had a form "B" to get thru the work site.
When I departed the Trans. Center on my return to the city (3:20p) I hear
the work train get a track & time to work in the limits with the foreman to
dump ballast.
On my return trip tonight (5:08p) out of Chicago they were tamping the
area when I got out to Eola.
Also of note........ the North platform at Lisle is now back in service.
We can now unload all trains using our normal spots. The South platform is
still being finished.

I heard that a switchman gave the engineer a "kick" sign last week, and
they're still waiting for the engine to move.

Only the ones equipped with ATS, which in GE parlance means Attempting To S

system screwing-up the cut-in ATS system that is required for operation of
trains #3 & #4 over the former Santa Flush lines. A day doesn't go by,

I don't hear some dinky reporting that his cab signals "dropped" somewhere
between Union Ave. and West Eola. It's time to discontinue their antiquated
cab signal system, as they are absolutely worthless and save the patrons of
Metra the expense of maintaining this useless system.
