To BRHS 3-Rail O-Gauge Fans:
The MTH/RailKing (MTH Electric Trains, www.mth-railking.com) O-gauge
model of the Pioneer Zephyr is finally out (announced in RailKing 2000
Volume 1 catalog last fall). It is available with ProtoSounds (MSRP =
$400) and a horn only version (MSRP = $300 or $350?). The semi-scale
ABS plastic model has 4 cars and diaphrams for both O-31 and O-72
operation. Both the power and motor car are powered. I have not yet
seen one run. The model looks good.
Anderson Travel Service [21 central Street, Holliston, MA 01746,
(508) 429-6494] has an ad in the June 2000 O-Gauge Railroader (Page
117) for custom painted Lionel duplex cars in Empire Builder paint for
CB&Q's Cut Bank Pass and SP&S's Indian Pass. The cars are $120 each
and $225/pair. They match a recent Lionel Empire Builder set.
