[CBQ] 1887 dining cars

I am looking for information on two dining cars, built by the CB&Q in 1887, sold to the Cotton Belt (St Louis Southwestern in July 1911.

The cars were slightly different, one built in May 1887, the other in Sept 1887, both at Auroa Il.

The sale was arranged by a Hammond Il dealer, Fitz Hugh Luther.

The cars were 64’ over the end sills, 71’ overall. On the Cotton Belt they are noted as having vestibules. They seated 30 in a 31’ 8” compartment. They had 10’ 6” wheel base trucks, the older car with 11’ wheel base trucks, with 40 ½ “ wheels, the newer with 10’ 6” wb trucks with 37” wheels.

On the Cotton Belt they became Nos 500 (the newer car) and 501 (the older)

No 500 was re-named “Anopholes” (the variety mosquito which carries malaria), and used as a “Sanitary Exhibit car” as part of a malaria eradication program in March 1920.

The 500 was renumbered as a work car (No 96150) in Nov 1924, and eventually set aside in 1939.

I am looking for information about these cars on the CB&Q, particularly car folios or drawings, and photos.
