Thank you Richard! I always wondered what the abandoned road bed was used for that parallels US287 north of Fort Collins.  I was once told it went to Laramie but that never made sense to me.  I went on Google maps and followed the road bed and sure enough it ends in a large quarry.  With the amount of limestone used in sugar production I imagine they took a lot of loads out of there.  I have lived in Fort Collins almost all my life so the local history is really interesting.  I still miss the days of the pickle tanks in Fort Collins at Mulberry and Riverside and the very unique smells it had.
