Guys:
First off, the photo and the attached image I shot in Denver in June 1967 both clearly show the 483 retained its rear skirting after being painted aluminum.
Next, GN 1196 is the Port of Vancouver which, along with sister 1195 Port of Seattle, were parlor-observation cars built by AC&F in 1950 for the
International. And the GN car on the next track is one of the blunt end cars used on the
Gopher.
I feel pretty sure the photo was taken pre-merger at the Mississippi Street coachyard in St. Paul.
