Ken,

The 4-8-4 that you're referring to was imported by Overland.  The tender shell provided was slightly too long and Overland stated if the old ones were returned they would replace them with the proper shell or one could buy the old shells for a reasonable price and keep them.  Also, for your information these engines were built by Baldwin and had the only welded tenders, I believe, the only ones the Burlington ever had.

Subject: [CBQ] O-5 4-8-4

Many years ago someone imported some brass models of the Burlington O-5, but I remember my dealer at the time telling me that the tender was wrong. Apparently someone told the importer, and they then brought in a corrected version of the tender which could replace the original. Does anyone remember who the importer was (perhaps Custom Brass?) and what was wrong with the original tenders?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
