I recently purchased an Overland B-1A, and the gearing seems noisy to me (I've
not disassembled it yet). A BRHS member told me that there is an idler gear in
the gear box that doesn't mesh well with the main gear. He said that years ago
Northwest Short Line offered a replacement gear, their part number 332-6. I
contacted NWSL, but they didn't have any record of the part, but said that they
could build a custom gear. Does anyone remember seeing or using NWSL 332-6? Was
it a simple replacement for the original gear, or was it designed differently
so that it would mesh better with the main gear?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
