First, thanks for all the responses to my question on CZ dome-obs on the TCZ.
The reason for my question has to do with running the TCZ on my layout, which
is based on the C&I in the last Q years 1967-1969
I do not have a brass set of TCZ cars. I bought the unlettered BLI CZ baggage
and diner many years ago hoping that something might come along later from BLI
for the TCZ. Since nothing has ever materialized I just bought a set of four
unlettered BLI CZ dome coaches that I will letter BURLINGTON and run on my TCZ.
I know there are window differences on the 50-seat TCZ dome cars and the
46-seat CZ dome cars, but the differences are far more minimal than the old
Con-Cor cars I have used for years!
Now the problem is what to put on the end of the TCZ. I was hoping that a CZ
dome might have been substituted occasionally and I would just put my CZ
dome-obs on the TCZ. That appears to not be a prototypical option. Rich
mentioned that the pre-war observations were sometimes used. Would they have
possibly been used in the late 60's? If so, is there a good stand-in model?
