In a much broader sense, a team track could have probably any car on the
railroad spotted to it, for the benefit of any customer that did not have their
own track-side dock: boxcars, flatcars, reefers, tankcars, hoppers, etc. The
term refers to the use of horse teams to move goods to/from the siding.
When we lived near San Antonio some 20 years ago, there were many SP team
tracks in the city that consisted of concrete docks that would have been boxcar
floor high, with a sloped ramp at one end. Occasionally, I would see a boxcar
spotted at one of the docks being loaded/unloaded.
