Dang !!!!!!!! It would seem that the Miss. River is not the culprit this time,
correct me if I'm wrong. The Plum and Apple rivers seem to collaborated to
wash the Q and Milw. OUT !!
The '65 flood was BAD but, 4960 still had some tracks ta RUN on. The flood of
'96 or '97 was bad !! I was there "pretending" ta be the Milw. tower. We got
trains through 10" to 12" of water ABOVE the TOP of the rails. This was
accomplished due to the fact that the TRACKS had not been washed out. THIS
year, however, a great deal of RR seems to be "missing" or scoured out. Also,
I understand Rt. 84 is closed to traffic because of portions of the roadbed
being washed away.
Anybody in the area should try ta get all the photos they can. THIS is a MAJOR
disruption !!
Karl
