* *I am labeling some of my brass models today and happened to open up CB&Q
S-4A 4-6-4 #4001. I got out BB #33 and looked up #4001, because I have
been impressed with this NKP model with full backhead, many boiler castings,
and ATC and double Mars light. I also found that it has the rear spoked
driver from 4004. The only thing missing is the diaphragm between the
vestbule cab and tender. This is not an immediate project, but does anyone
have closeup photos or plans showing details of the diaphragm. The tender
has four large posts on the cab end, which I believe were mounts for the
diaphragm assembly. I have a model of D&RGW 4-6-6-4 #3710, which has an
all-weather cab with diaphragm, and I am thinking that #4001 would be
similar.
