Here's a bit more information on the topic from a 1968 issue of a
MILW Industry Guide:
Allis Chalmers @ Milwaukee, WI [West Allis] served by both the MILW &
CNW
John Deere @ Ottumwa, IA served by N&W but open to switching
John Deere @ East Moline, IL: Harvester Works on MILW and DRI&NW,
Malleable Works [Castings] on CB&Q, Foundry and Parts on MILW-RI-Q,
Spreader Works on MILW & DRINW. All open to switching.
John Deere @ Moline, IL: Industrial Eqpt. on DRI&NW and RI, Planter
Works on MILW-RI-CB&Q, Plow Works on MILW-RI-CB&Q. All open to
switching.
Case Tractor Works @ Rock Island, IL on RI and CB&Q, open.
Oliver @ Charles City, IA on Charles City & Western, not open which
means that CCW received a line haul division of the freight on all
shipments.
Minneapolis-Moline plant at South Minneapolis must have disappeared
since it does not show in this guide. It was served by the MILW, but
probably open to switching.
