I often check Caboose Hobbies' website for CB&Q/D&RGW models which are
available or coming up and noted something quite irregular today. They listed
a Con-Cor CB&Q MP15, numbered 576 or 580, painted in the pre-1958 blackbird
scheme. I questioned this because I thought MP15s were built in the 1960s and
would be painted Chinese red on the CB&Q. I checked the BRHS roster and found
no MP15s listed there. I also checked the EMD MP15 on Wikipedia and found
that it was built from 1974 to 1980, which would have been the BN era. What
is the story on this model, especially painted in first-generation colors?
