A few weeks ago I purchased some of the new P2K SD-45s and posted a
request for help in detailing them on the CB&Q Yahoo list. Two list
members, Gordon Smith & Ed Pavlovic responded with numberous
constructive and very helpful suggestions with references where to
find specific detail photos. I would like to publicly thank both of
them for their assistance. The CBQ 525 transition paint SD-45 is
now complete except for final weathering and in case anyone is
interested I posted several photos of the completed model in
the "Files" folder "CBQ525 SD-45 Model" I have also completed one
DRGW model and a second one and a GN model are currently about 80%
complete. For us knit pickers, fabricating the correct style trucks
is the biggest challenge on these models. We switched for three
hours the other night with a couple of the P2K SD-45s and they
performed fawlessly.
And yes I also have some of the Kato SD-45s and they take additional
detail correction work as well to make they reasonably accurate.
