One of Russell's comments in his latest post brought up a related question in my mind - >> I can not see where a steam generator equipped unit would have any > particular use in work train service. << In the Q's late steam era, some Prairies were assigned to work train duty and given an additional air compressor on the pilot deck, to provide for air-operated dump cars and tools.
