This is what I remember - the carts were a dark green, possibly the Bronze Green used on the depot trim.  Could the color have been specified by the Railway Express Agency?  I have used a Testors Dark Green enamel, which looked OK to me.  The best match for the Bronze Green is Model Master Euro Dark Green.
