I have a Kato C&S SD40 that I did some minor relettering on. I have over the years been thinking about getting one of the newer Athearn RTR C&S SD40's. Can anyone speak to how much better (or wrong) the Athearn SD40 is compared to the older Kato SD40? From the looks of things and past posts, it appears the Athearn is a much better unit in terms of both the correct trucks and hand brake location. The open fans are nice. The printed number boards and lettering quality also appear to be better.
